The statue of Marija Broz is located in front of the Primary school Bistrica ob Sotli. The statue was the gift from the Croatian sculptors Anton Augustinčić and Vladimir Herljevič on the day the school was festively opened. The opening of the school was also witnessed by Marija Broz’s son, Josip Broz Tito.
The Primary school Bistrica ob Sotli used to be named after Marija Broz, which is why her name is still written on the wall of the school.
