AHAC, ČREŠNJEVEC
Location: Bistrica ob Sotli
Category: Skulptures, monuments and memorials
The memorial that once stood in Okič, right above the cellar of ex-headmaster Emerik Moric, was torn down around 1910 and rebuilt in 1914. What remains of the memorial today is the base with the pillar and the mound (without the head). The pillar with bevelled edges has the year 1749 engraved in it.
Emerik’s son Ado Moric- Darian and his uncle Franc Flis have rebuilt the memorial in 1914 and into the slot of the base, they laid a container with Austiran bank notes and a parchment with the name of the people, who helped putting it up. Later, it was moved for good 5 metres, as it was impeding traffic.
