KRAVARIČ’S CHAPEL, KUNŠPERK
Location: Bistrica ob Sotli
Category: Sacral objects
Kravarič’s landlords Neža and Jože had built a chapel near the house in gratitude to Mary. As they were expecting their child, their home was struck by tuberculosis. The couple had made their vows to Mary and in March 1910 they were blessed with a healthy child. They named him Jožef, after the father, and soon after fulfilled their promise and built the chapel.
On its walls are, in relation to the names of that generation of the Kravaričes, depicted St. Neža, St. Joseph and the previous church of Kunšperk, the church of St. Margaret, while in the foreground there is a statue of Mary with Jesus. In the past, they used to bless Easter dishes at the chapel.
